Spring Encaustic Classes 2020

Intro to Encaustic Painting

4 Dates!

Discover the ancient wax and resin medium of encaustic. Combine techniques from painting, collage, etching, and printing to play with a new media. You will learn about the equipment, supplies and basic techniques in a safe environment. The curriculum includes translucent layering, mark-making, and creating texture. Incorporate other media such as graphite, copy paper, and oil pastel into your work. You will learn tips and tricks for working with the hot wax to get the best results. All materials are included: 3 boards, wax, colored wax, tools, mixed media, found collage material. Returning students are welcome. Fee: $65 for Art Gym members, $75 for non members
